The Postulate of The Servant of God “Josip Stadler” was
established on the 12th of December, 2000 by the Archdiocese
of VrhBosna and the Order of Sisters of the Servants of
the Infant Jesus in commencing the canonisation process
in the diocese of the first Archbishop of VrhBosna and founder
of the Sisters of the Servants of the Infant Jesus. Prior
to this, the centre for the collection of material pertaining
to Archbishop Stadler, has been located at this address,
since 1997. It was established with the intention that all
archival material be collected relating to the life and
works of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna at one location.
The current task of The Postulate of the Servant of God
“Josip Stadler” is that of the tasks the appointed Postulate,
through whom the actor as the bearer and propagator of
the canonisation, leads the determined cause. This task
is strengthened through the Apostolic Constitution Divinis
perfectionis mater in which on the 25th of January, 1983,
Pope John Paul II provided instructions to bishops on
the process of canonisation. He entrusted the Sacred Congregation
for Sainthood to issue instructions in conducting the
proceedings with which they need to conform with, and
which the Congregation published under the title of Normae
sevandae in inqisitionbus ab Episcopis faciendis in Causis
Sanctorom in Rome on the 7th of February, 1983. On the
basis of this document, the task of the Postulate consists
of researching information on the life of Servant of God
Josip Stadler, the declaration of his holiness and the
meaning of this cause to the Church.
The Postulate in the cause of The Servant of God “Josip
Stadler” is Dr. Pavo Jurisic, who is a priest from the
Archdiocese of Vrhbosna. Sister Anemarie Radan SMI is
employed as the First Secretary in the Postulate. She
is a member of the Order of Sisters of the Servants of
the Infant Jesus from the Split Province. There are also
volunteers and other people assisting at the Postulate.
It is the right of the Postulate who with a legal mandate
and with the authorisation of the actor of the cause,
that it names individuals who will represent him/her,
and who are named Vice-Postulates. In the cause of the
Servant of God “Josip Stadler”, Sister M. Mirjam Dedic
SMI, who is a member of the Sisters of the Servants of
the Infant Jesus from the Zagreb Province, was appointed
Vice- Postulate and is based in Zagreb.
The Postulate is involved in publications and has publishes
books in two series: Stadler’s Way and Stadler’s Way-Documents.
In the first series, it publishes books and commentaries
on the life and works of Archbishop Stadler. And in the
second series it publishes archival documents, letters
and pastoral letters of the Servant of God “Josip Stadler”.
The postulate periodically issues a newsletter, titled,
Stadler.
The Postulate of the Servant of God, Josip Stadler is
a non-profit institution which is under the patronage
of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna with its current Ordinary
Cardinal Vinko Pulic as head and the Supreme Committee
of the Sisters of the Servants of the Infant Jesus, from
whose funds we are financed.
